Safeguarding

The Gattons Infant School Child Protection Statement

The Governing board takes seriously its responsibility under section 175 of the Education Act 2002 to safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils; and to work together with other agencies to ensure adequate arrangements within our school to identify, assess, and support those children who are suffering harm.

We recognise that all adults, including temporary staff, volunteers and governors, have a full and active part to play in protecting our pupils from harm, and that the child’s welfare is our paramount concern.

All staff members believe that our school should provide a caring, positive safe and stimulating environment that promotes the social, physical and moral development of the individual child.

The Child Protection Policy is available for downloading from the Policies section under Key Information in the About Us Page on the website.

Safeguarding Children during a Partial School Closure

If there is a partial closure of the school site, for example one year group due to a case of Covid,  the safeguarding of all of our children remains our top priority.  At this time, our school will continue as normal in supporting our vulnerable children and if anyone has any questions regarding this they are asked to make contact with the Designated Safeguarding Leads at dsl@thegattons.co.uk.  Please contact the school if you have any queries.

If you need to raise a safeguarding concern out of school hours you can also contact West Sussex on the link below:
